Policies for In-Shop Appointments

Curbside Procedures

We have moved to a curbside experience for all clients. Please park when you arrive and text (904)552-1904. A staff member will come to your vehicle to retrieve your cat and go over the details of your appointment. We will give you an estimated time that your cat will be ready for pickup. Please text us upon your arrival and we will bring the cat out as soon as possible. 

Appointments, Cancellations, & No-Shows

A Cat Lover's Dream operates by scheduled appointment only. All appointments must be booked online and paid for in advance at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time. 

We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment. 

If you do not call, email, or text us to cancel more than 24 hours in advance, you will be considered a No Show and no refunds or credits will be given.

If you are more than 10 minutes late, we will not have enough time to safely and fully complete the service, so the appointment will have to be rescheduled. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will be considered a No Show and no refunds or credits will be given. 

Health & Safety of Grooming Clients

A Cat Lover's Dream prides ourselves on taking the best possible care of your cat. While we do our best to achieve your aesthetic goals, our procedures focus on the health, safety, and comfort of each cat we groom. If a particular procedure causes undue stress to your cat, we reserve the right to proceed in a way that causes minimal stress to the cat, even if the outcome is not exactly what was discussed prior to the appointment. We may, at any time during the service, determine that the cat is too stressed and ask you to come immediately pick up the cat. In these cases, we will work with you to set up a follow-up appointment if appropriate to complete the groom, or we may issue a partial refund for services that were not completed. 

We reserve the right to refuse any services at any time. If your animal is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom or bathe, A Cat Lover's Dream has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services anytime before, during, or after grooming. Fees will be assessed or refunded based on what was completed during the grooming session. 

We reserve the right to refuse any services requested by the owner of the cat if we believe these services will be detrimental to the cat’s well being.

Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Our groomers are not veterinarians and cannot diagnose your pet, but they can and will alert you to signs of possible medical problems they notice while grooming. We are not responsible for the cost of necessary or unnecessary vet visits due to a groomer’s suggestion of possible health issues.

Pets with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Matts left in a pet’s coat only grow tighter and can damage the pet’s skin (causing sores and infection). We do not wish to cause serious or undue stress to your pet and will not do excessive or continual de-matting. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions, and heavy matting can trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow. It is important to monitor your pet after grooming and take them to their vet if they show any discomfort. There is an extra charge for de-matting and for grooming excessively matted pets.

Although accidents are very rare, there is always a risk when dealing with pets. Grooming equipment is sharp, and, although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, etc. In most cases, this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Any incident, no matter how small will be communicated to the pet owner. If necessary, A Cat Lover’s Dream will transport your pet to a veterinarian.

If your pet experiences difficulties during the grooming process and requires extra time or another groomer's assistance to complete the groom safely, a special handling fee will be added to your pet's groom. Fees average around $30 and will be charged at the groomer's discretion.

Respect of Staff

The staff at A Cat Lover’s Dream strives to treat every client with the utmost respect. We expect that our clients treat us with the same respect. We reserve the right to refuse services to anyone that does not treat our staff respectfully.
